The sacraments are the source of life for the Catholic community. At St. Alexander Parish, we strive to provide a meaningful and engaging sacramental life for our students, faculty and staff.
Reconciliation and First Holy Communion
The Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist are celebrated for the first time in second grade. It is the celebration of God’s forgiveness through personal confession. Our children take part in this sacrament prior to their First Holy Communion.
The Sacrament of Reconciliation is offered to all our students on an individual basis, as well as during the Advent and Lenten Seasons.
Confirmation
The Sacrament of Confirmation is the celebration of the gift of the Holy Spirit and is usually celebrated in eighth grade. Our students prepare for this important day over the course of two years, culminating with a Confirmation preparatory retreat.
All children enrolled in the Sacramental Program must have a valid and original copy of their Baptismal certificate on file with the Religious Education Office.
The Sacramental Program for First Holy Communion, as well as Confirmation requires a minimum of two (2) consecutive years of religious education either in the parish school or religious education program.
Please feel free to contact Tyler Ried at (708) 448-6624 with any questions regarding the Sacramental Program.
